COME IN AND MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME was my first installation, produced for my senior thesis show at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. The room was home to a character, whom participants were invited to learn more about by playing with different items in the room. The piece was completely interactive, and included sounds, smells and even things each visitor could take with them - if they found them. The room was divided into four quadrants: numbers, nature, destruction and science. Each wall represented one of these themes through screenprints on the wall, collage, and the items arranged in that area. even the floors and ceilings were altered to create an overall theme. COME IN AND MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME was on display at the Above Instinct gallery during May and June of 1999.
